Pop the kettle on

Privacy Policy

A plain letter about what I keep, why I keep it and how you can have it removed.

Last updated: October 8, 2026

Hello. Privacy pages tend to be rather dreary, so I've written this one as a letter. Make a cup of tea, and I'll go through it properly.

The crisp version

Who I am

Who looks after my information here?

Oliver Hughes Golf runs this site, the books and the membership. There's one address for everything, privacy included: business@golfoliver.com.

When you pop in

Am I being tracked while I read your pages?

You aren't. There's no account to make and no sign-up form on the site.

I don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, Google or Facebook trackers, or analytics scripts of any sort.

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. It processes your IP address to deliver the pages and protect them.

When you buy a book

Who takes my card details?

Hotmart, on its secure checkout. Hotmart collects your name, email, billing and payment details, and your card number never comes to me.

Hotmart then tells me your email, what you bought, the price, your country and the video or link that brought you. For book orders I keep a scrambled version of your email rather than the email itself.

If you join the membership

What do you keep about members?

Hotmart passes me your name, email, country, time zone, membership status and dates, and which video or link you came from. I keep these to send your letters.

My letters also tell me whether they arrived and which links in them you clicked.

An unfinished checkout

Will you chase me if I don't finish paying?

Only gently. If you start a checkout and stop, or the payment doesn't go through, Hotmart may pass me your name and email.

I may then send up to two reminder emails. A single click stops them, and if you've already bought, I shan't write at all.

When you write to me

What happens to the emails I send you?

I keep your message and your email address so I can reply. I delete the complete raw copy of the email after 90 days.

The text of the message stays, so I can follow our conversation.

A bit of AI help

Is AI involved in your replies?

It can be. To speed things up, an AI writing assistant may help draft my replies. Your message is used for that and only that.

What I use it for

Why do you need any of it?

To deliver your books and letters, answer your questions, and sort out refunds. To understand which videos actually help.

And occasionally, to tell you about other books from Oliver Hughes Golf. There's an unsubscribe link in every one of those emails.

What I never do

Will you sell my details to anyone?

Certainly not. I don't sell or rent personal information, and I don't share it for advertising.

The services that help me

Who else handles my information?

Three of them, each with its own privacy policy. Hotmart looks after payments, delivers the books and bills the membership.

Resend posts my emails out. Cloudflare hosts the site, keeps my data and takes in the email sent to me.

What you can ask of me

How do I stop the emails or have my data deleted?

Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, or you can reply with the word “unsubscribe”.

Wherever you live in the US, California included, you may ask to see, correct or delete your data. Write to business@golfoliver.com and you'll have an answer within 30 days.

Hotmart holds on to its own purchase records, as the law requires.

How long things are kept

How long do you keep my details?

Membership details stay while you're a member and until you ask me to delete them.

If you unsubscribe, I keep only a scrambled “do not email” note, so you're never written to again. Order records are kept as long as the law requires.

Adults, please

Is the site meant for children?

No, the books and membership are for adults. Nor do I knowingly collect data from any child under 13.

If this letter changes

How will I know if this policy changes?

I'll update this page and its “Last updated” date, so you can see when.

Oliver Hughes

All the best, and ball first, turf second. — Oliver

If anything here is unclear, do write to business@golfoliver.com. I'd much rather explain than leave you wondering.
